ISSUANCE OF NEW FAIR PRICE SHOP (FPS) LICENSE

Eligibility Criteria

• The applicant must fulfil the following eligibility conditions:
• The applicant must be between 21 and 45 years of age.
• The applicant must have passed at least 10+2 or an equivalent examination.
• The applicant must possess a valid Parivar Pehchan Patra (Family ID).
• The applicant must have basic computer knowledge.
• The applicant must be a resident of the locality for which the FPS license is being applied.
• The applicant must have a satisfactory financial background.
• The applicant must be unemployed.
• The applicant must not be a permanent or contractual employee of the State or Central Government.
• The applicant must not be receiving a government pension.
• The applicant must not be a close family member of a sitting Sarpanch or Panch in rural areas, or the specified elected representatives in urban areas, as per the applicable eligibility rules.
• A sitting Sarpanch, Panch, or elected member of the relevant Municipal Committee, Municipal Council, or Municipal Corporation is not eligible.
• The proposed Fair Price Shop must satisfy the applicable departmental requirements regarding beneficiaries and location.

Documents Required

• The following documents are required for the FPS license application:

Family ID (Parivar Pehchan Patra).

• Aadhaar Card.
• Residence proof showing that the applicant resides in the locality for which the license is being applied.
• Educational qualification certificate (10+2 or equivalent).
• Undertaking regarding the sound financial condition of the applicant.
• Undertaking declaring that no criminal case or case under the Essential Commodities Act (EC Act) is pending against the applicant.
• Undertaking declaring that the applicant has not been convicted in any criminal case.
• Undertaking declaring that no family member has been allotted another Fair Price Shop (FPS).
• Undertaking regarding income proof.
• Recommendation from the concerned authority, as applicable:

Rural areas: Concerned Panch or Sarpanch.

Municipal Corporation areas: Mayor, Deputy Mayor, or Municipal Councillor, as applicable.

Municipal Council areas: Relevant municipal representative, as applicable.

• Recommendation of the MLA of the concerned constituency, as specified by the department.

Declaration that the applicant is not a government or contractual employee and is not receiving a government pension.

• Map of the proposed Fair Price Shop premises.
• Caste Certificate, where applicable or required.
• Rent Agreement, if the proposed premises are rented.
• Applicant's photograph.

Applicant's signature.

• Undertaking regarding FPS license, if specifically required by the department.
