The CSIR-Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute (CSIR-CMERI), Durgapur—operating under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR)—has issued an official notification to recruit for 27 positions of Technician (1) Group-II. Selection Process

The selection process for the CSIR-CMERI Technician recruitment will consist of the following stages:

Stage 1 – Application Screening

Initially, the online applications received will be scrutinized.

Stage 2 – Trade Test

Eligible candidates will be required to take a Trade Test in their respective trade.

The Trade Test will be qualifying in nature.

Marks obtained in the Trade Test will not be included in the final merit list.

Stage 3 – Competitive Written Examination

Candidates who qualify in the Trade Test will be called for the written examination.

Exam Pattern 2026

The written examination will be of the objective type.

Total duration – 2 hours 30 minutes
Total questions – 150
Total marks – 325
The question paper will be in both Hindi and English.

Only the questions related to the English language will be in English.
